What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Fable Diner was the Mount Pleasant restaurant at 151 East Broadway, on the ground floor of the Lee Building, that Guy Fieri visited for the episode "Belly, Beef and Bratwurst" (aired 2019-04-12). Food Network's restaurant page lists a roast duck pancake with house-made kimchi and a meatloaf with smoked mushroom gravy and caramelized onions as the dishes he featured. Daily Hive reported on 2026-08-12 that the restaurant opened in 2016 under owner Ron MacGillivray, and that the group announced the Broadway location would close after service on Sunday, 2026-08-23, citing an unfavourable lease situation and delays to the Broadway Subway station. A Smooch Food review published 2026-08-22 described a visit on the second-to-last day and titled the post a farewell to the Broadway location. Daily Hive reported that Fable Kitchen on West 4th Avenue and the downtown Fable restaurant on Richards Street would stay open, and that MacGillivray said nothing had been confirmed about reopening elsewhere.
