Fat City Franks, a small hot dog shop in Calgary, was the second stop in the episode "Urban Diner, Fat City, Phil's BBQ" of You Gotta Eat Here! (Food Network Canada), which aired 2012-09-14 according to TheTVDB. TheTVDB's synopsis says the shop was run by retirees Bob and Jane and served a one-of-a-kind breakfast dog, and TVmaze's summary files the stop under unusual breakfast dishes. The shop's Google Maps address is 2015 4 St SW, Unit 3, Calgary. A Daily Hive roundup of Calgary hot dog spots dated 2019-07-17 did not include it. A Google Maps listing for that address, read on 2026-10-19, marks the business as permanently closed. The listing gives no closing date, and neither an owner statement nor a news report about the closing was located.
