TheTVDB's episode guide lists the Highland Kitchen segment of the 2012-09-26 episode as modern Ukrainian-inspired fare, including pork-stuffed crepes called nalysnyky. The Tomato, in a culinary questionnaire article published 2011-10-11, described Highlands Kitchen as a small restaurant tucked away in Edmonton's Highlands neighborhood that had taken that name the previous summer after operating as Culina Highlands. According to The Tomato, the menu leaned on Ukrainian-style dishes such as pyrohy, borscht, nachynka, and a Kalyna plate of kubasa and lazy cabbage, and the dining room was open Thursday through Monday from noon to 8 pm. The same article did not mention the Food Network series. A public Google Maps listing for Highlands Kitchen at 6509 112 Avenue NW, checked 2026-10-19, marks the business as permanently closed.
