What happened after You Gotta Eat Here!?

Rock Cod Café in Cowichan Bay, British Columbia, was the middle stop in the fourth episode of You Gotta Eat Here!, which aired on Flavour Network on 2012-08-15. TVmaze's episode summary calls the featured dish a deep-fried seafood platter, and TheTVDB's entry names it the Captain's Plate. The restaurant is a seafood spot at 1759 Cowichan Bay Road; Tourism Cowichan's listing, read in October 2026, describes fresh seafood, fish and chips and fish tacos. Trip.com's page for The Rock Cod, at 1759 Cowichan Bay Road #4, lists it as open with hours of 11:30 to 20:00, but shows no reviews and no date for that status.

Tourism Cowichan's Exploring Cowichan Bay post, published 2022-05-16 and modified 2023-12-07, called the Rock Cod Cafe a staple for fish and chips in the Cowichan Valley since 1991, said it was recently under new ownership, and listed it as The Rock Cod - West Coast Fish Fry & Bar with its own lager on tap. The cafe's own website, which shows no update date, describes it at 1759 Cowichan Bay Road and mentions a halibut-and-chips plate with a Vancouver Island Lager; its only dated reference is an August 2013 magazine article. The Tourism Cowichan restaurant listing and the Trip.com page carry no dates, and no 2026-dated post or article about the cafe was found.
