What happened after Man v. Food?

Al's Hamburgers, a Green Bay burger counter operating from the same South Washington Street storefront since 1934, hosted Casey Webb for its Tailgate Burger, described as an homage to the city's football culture, during Man v. Food's Season 8 Green Bay episode (aired 2019-09-10). Founder Al Rank's family ran the shop until 2016, when Michael Wirz purchased the building and the Al's name with a group of investors, according to The Business News; Wirz stepped away from the business in 2019, and ownership has since been shared among Travis Engels, Shari Van Straten, Paul Thompson, Shane Todt, and South Washington Holdings. The restaurant's own site and a Yelp listing for the same address show continued operation, with reviews dated as recently as July 2026.
