Man v. Food (S1E02, aired 2008-12-03) featured Big Foot Lodge in Memphis, spotlighting the restaurant's oversized burgers and eating-challenge fare inside its log-cabin, Sasquatch-themed dining room. According to a blog post published 2008-12-19, a California restaurant company's trademark dispute over the log-cabin design and large Sasquatch statue led owners Shawn and Lana Danko to rename the restaurant Kooky Canuck that same month, also retitling the signature burger challenge from the Sasquatch Burger to the Kookamonga Challenge. Kooky Canuck's own website, kookycanuck.com, listed the Kookamonga Challenge and an active online ordering system, according to a site check on 2026-09-08. A Yelp page for the restaurant, updated September 2026, listed hundreds of reviews posted for the business at the same 87 South 2nd Street address used since the 2008 renaming.

You Gotta Eat Here!, Season 4, Episode 24 Aired

The July 10, 2015 episode of You Gotta Eat Here! ('Creemore Kitchen, Hogtown Smoke, Kooky Canuck') included a stop at Kooky Canuck in downtown Memphis, Tennessee. TVmaze's episode listing describes the segment as Canadian favorites served in downtown Memphis. It sat alongside a Creemore, Ontario stop for burgers, fried chicken and sweet corn ice cream, and a Toronto restaurant serving smoked barbecue as a lunch special. The listing credits host John Catucci with all three visits.
