What happened after Restaurant Makeover?

Restaurant Makeover, a Food Network Canada series in which two well-known industry figures take on a struggling restaurant (Media in Canada described the format when the show launched), began its fifth season on 2008-05-05 with an episode titled "Riviera." The Rotten Tomatoes episode guide gives one line about that hour: the plan was to turn a plain Italian dining room into a rustic southern barbecue restaurant. That line is the only description of the episode found in the sources read for this entry. It does not say what was going wrong at Riviera beforehand, who owned it, how much money was spent, or what the chef and designer did room by room, so none of that is given here.

According to Wikipedia's Restaurant Makeover page, the restaurant was renamed Cluck, Grunt and Low after the makeover and later became Puck 'N Wings. Wikipedia's table is a list assembled by editors, so it was treated as a pointer and checked against another source. A blogTO listing for Puck N Wings supports the sequence: it says the wings restaurant took over from Cluck, Grunt and Low, which it describes as having lasted only a short time. The same listing says Puck N Wings was built around the number 50, with 50 wings and 50 salads on offer in many flavors, and that it drew University of Toronto students and residents of the Annex neighborhood. On the date it was read, 2026-10-19, the blogTO page labeled Puck N Wings as closed.

The blogTO page carries no publication date and no street address, and no other source read for this entry gives the location of the original Riviera or of Cluck, Grunt and Low. Two web searches, one for the address of Cluck, Grunt and Low and one linking Riviera to Puck N Wings, returned pages about unrelated businesses, including a restaurant in Ottawa that is also named Riviera. A Google Places search found no match for either name. Because no address was found, this entry is not placed on the map.

What the sources show, then, is limited: a southern barbecue concept was planned for the 2008 relaunch; a later wings restaurant followed Cluck, Grunt and Low in the same space, according to blogTO; and blogTO's listing for that wings restaurant is marked closed. When Cluck, Grunt and Low opened, how long it ran, and when Puck N Wings arrived and left are not given by any source read here. The order of events rests on one undated listing and the Wikipedia table.
