What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Peaceful Restaurant, a Northern Chinese restaurant at 532 West Broadway in Vancouver, appeared in the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives episode “Family Matters,” which aired 2012-02-06. Food Network's restaurant listing names cumin lamb stir-fried noodles, pan-fried pork dumplings and Peaceful beef rolls, five-spiced beef wrapped in a crisp green onion flatbread with hoisin sauce, as dishes tied to the host's visit. Daily Hive reported on 2025-09-17 that Peaceful was founded in 1998, is led by owner and executive chef Charlie Huang, and has five locations in Metro Vancouver, and it mentioned the 2012 television feature while covering the chain's first Toronto opening, on Bloor Street West. That article does not say which Vancouver address is the original. The restaurant's website, viewed 2026-10-19, describes the business as serving Chinese cuisine since 1998 and offers an online ordering menu, and a Google Maps listing checked the same day shows the West Broadway location as operational.
