What happened after Man v. Food?

Man v. Food (S4E23, aired 2011-11-09) featured Sweet Potatoes, a Savannah soul-food restaurant, for a banana pudding the show's crew praised as among the best in the country. The restaurant operated at 531 Stephenson Ave under the name Sweet Potatoes Kitchen. According to a WVOB business profile, the restaurant changed to new ownership in February 2024, with four owners including veterans Steven Bailey and Shannon Wilson. Google Places nonetheless lists the business as permanently closed, and Yelp's listing, updated in July 2026, also marks Sweet Potatoes Kitchen as closed; the restaurant's own website returned a server error when checked on 2026-09-08. That website check specifically returned an HTTP 409 error, with a follow-up attempt failing on an SSL handshake.
