What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
The Fish Counter, a seafood restaurant at 3825 Main Street in Vancouver, appeared in the episode "Standout Seafood" (aired 2019-06-23). Food Network's restaurant page names marine biologist Mike McDermid and chef Robert Clark as co-owners, says the menu uses only local, sustainable seafood, and ties its BC bouillabaisse, a Vancouver-seafood take on the French soup, to the episode. The page also lists salmon fish and chips in a light beer batter and a sturgeon banh mi as specials. Daily Hive reported on 2024-03-28 that the business had just opened a Commercial Drive location alongside the Main Street shop. The Fish Counter's own website, viewed on 2026-10-19, carried a 2026 copyright line, listed Main Street hours of 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and a second shop at 3135 Edgemont Boulevard in North Vancouver, and offered a menu of fish and chips, chowder, sandwiches, wraps and tacos.
