What happened after The Hotel Inspector?

The New Lyngarth, a Blackpool hotel, was featured in the seventh episode of series 8 of The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5), first aired on 2011-11-14 under the title "The New Lyngarth, Blackpool." Wikipedia's episode list, read on 2026-10-19, titles it "The New Lyngarth Hotel + inn + B&B" and says the owner took over a derelict 15-bedroom building in 2009. TheTVDB's synopsis of the episode, read the same day, says the owner had ambitious plans for the seaside property and spent about 250,000 pounds on turning it into an upmarket destination closer to a private members' club. It adds that the hotel had no star rating and a run of poor guest reviews, and that bookings had dropped. TheTVDB does not name the owner, and neither source describes the advice given or the changes made after Alex Polizzi's visit.

No street address for the hotel appears in either source. A Google Places search on the featured name returned a different business: the New Guilderoy Hotel, 59 Holmfield Road, Blackpool, FY2 9RU, listed as operational. That result has a different name and address from the featured hotel, so it is not used as the hotel's location in this entry.

One web search for "New Lyngarth" with Blackpool and the show's name returned a Marketing Lancashire article dated 2009-07-14 about a different Blackpool guest house, Langtry's (formerly Sunnyside), that also appeared on the show, so that page is not used here. The search turned up no website, social page or news item dated 2025 or 2026 for a hotel called The New Lyngarth, and nothing on a sale or renaming.

A Google Maps search checked 2026-10-20 returns only a bare address listing for the Lyngarth Hotel on Willshaw Road in Blackpool, with no opening hours, rates or recent reviews, and the Internet Archive's last copy of the hotel's website dates from July 2010.
