What happened after Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares?

Clubway 41 was a restaurant with a ground-floor cafe in Blackpool, Lancashire, and the third episode of the third series of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, which Channel 4 aired on 2006-03-07. TheTVDB's listing says the business was in trouble with a bizarre menu and demoralized staff, and Peacock's listing describes a struggling restaurant facing serious financial trouble. According to Wikipedia's article on the series, it had been promoted as a Blackpool restaurant of the year yet struggled to draw customers, and the upstairs restaurant was being kept going by the greasy-spoon cafe downstairs. The owners were a couple, with one partner also working as the chef; the summary says the owner-chef had limited management experience. Ramsay found that none of the locals he asked had heard of the award.

Ramsay's rescue, per Wikipedia, made the downstairs cafe the main attraction, serving simple English food, changed the menu, and renamed the business Jacksons. At the relaunch, service began well with the owner-chef and the cook in the kitchen, though the owner-chef struggled with the workload.

At the return visit, Wikipedia says a new bus stop built in front of the restaurant was putting customers off, the cook had left, and the menu had slipped back to greasy-spoon fare. Ramsay brought the owners back to Blackpool to promote the business and arranged advertising on buses. The article does not report the result of that campaign.

Reality TV Updates, a show-tracking site, wrote in a page last updated 2022-09-25 that Jacksons closed in September 2006, about six months after the episode aired, and gave the address as 41 Market Street, Blackpool. Reality TV Revisited reported that new owners reopened the premises in 2007 as the Market Street Diner, which closed in 2013, and that the space then became a fish and chip restaurant, The Frying Squad. Blackpool Council's licensing register lists The Frying Squad at 41 Market Street with a premises licence running from 2022-07-08, and Google's listing showed it trading with daily hours in October 2026.
