What Happened to Toucans Oceanside Bar & Grill After Bar Rescue?

Toucans Oceanside Bar & Grill was a beachfront bar on the Hollywood, Florida boardwalk when Bar Rescue filmed "Beach Rats" (aired February 22, 2015). The episode's title referred to a rodent problem discovered in the bar's kitchen, one of several sanitation and operational issues Jon Taffer's team found during their visit. During filming, Taffer was visibly affected after learning that one of the bar's co-owners had recently lost a son, and the show's rescue plan combined a menu and service overhaul with a full rebrand: Taffer's team gave the bar a pirate theme and renamed it Bonny and Read's, after historical female pirates, while eliminating the rodent infestation and retraining staff on food safety.

Six weeks after the visit, the show reported improved sales and a better working atmosphere among the staff. The name later evolved further to Bonny and Read's Toucan Hideout, folding in a nod to the original Toucans name, and the business continued operating under that name for roughly a decade.
