What happened after Bar Rescue?
Undisputed Sports Bar & Grill in Yonkers, New York, was the subject of the October 12, 2014 episode "Thugs with Mugs." Co-owners Miguel Torres and Brian O'Shea, both former boxers, had opened the bar in 2009 and built an initially popular spot, but by the time of filming the business was losing money and safety standards had slipped. Recon visits found undercooked chicken wings, a walk-in refrigerator running roughly twenty degrees too warm, and evidence that inexpensive liquor was being poured from bottles labeled as premium brands.
A fight broke out inside the bar during filming, and a former employee told the show she had stopped working there because she no longer felt safe on the premises. The rescue team pushed the bar toward an upscale identity aimed at young professionals, renaming it SoYo Craft Bar (short for South Yonkers), introducing new cocktails, and replacing kitchen and bar equipment. Owners Torres and O'Shea also worked out some of their personal conflict in a supervised boxing session arranged by the show. Sales were reported higher immediately after the relaunch.
The improvement did not hold. Torres told lohud.com in a July 2016 interview that sales fell more than 60% within a month of the changes and that continuing to operate under the show's new system threatened the bar's ability to stay open; he also said he doubted the young-professional concept fit the neighborhood's existing customer base. Local reporting from hamlethub.com documented a shooting near the bar in August 2015 and a stabbing reported nearby in 2016, and Yonkers Daily Voice reported in mid-2016 that the owners had listed the business for sale at $150,000 amid a pattern of police response to disturbances. A Reality TV Updates fan-site reported that the bar closed in March 2018, a claim not independently corroborated by a named news outlet.
