What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
On Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives episode 'And The Kicker Is..' (aired 2010-02-15), the show featured Bette's Oceanview Diner's souffle-style buttermilk pancakes and scratch-made diner breakfast plates, served from an open kitchen behind a chrome counter. The diner is a longtime fixture of Berkeley's Fourth Street shopping district, run as a counter-and-booth breakfast-and-lunch spot with a separate to-go window next door. According to a Yelp listing updated 2026-08, the restaurant remains active at 1807 Fourth Street, with recent customer photos and reviews posted. The business's own website, hosted at oceanviewonfourth.com, lists current hours -- Monday through Friday 7am to 2pm for dine-in and Saturday through Sunday 7am to 3pm, with a longer to-go window schedule. That same site and the current Yelp page both refer to the business simply as 'Oceanview Diner,' a shortened form of the name; no announcement of a formal rename was found.

We work hard to keep every status accurate and dated, but restaurants change fast and our sources aren't perfect. If something here is wrong — a status, a name, an address, anything — tell us what you're seeing and where you saw it, and we'll check it.
