Who Runs BFE Bar and Grill Now? Restaurant: Impossible (FN) Update

Restaurant: Impossible (Food Network) traveled to Waynesboro, Georgia, for "Ambush: A Taxing Situation," which aired March 23, 2016, to renovate BFE Bar and Grill on Hancock Landing Road. Coverage from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's restaurant blog previewed the episode as part of the network's ongoing rescue format, and chef Robert Irvine's own social media post at the time showed the space stripped down mid-renovation. According to coverage of the episode's content, Irvine's team found the business deep in debt and operating with a liquor license that had been suspended over unpaid taxes, a detail disclosed as part of the episode's own narrative about the establishment's financial trouble; as part of the renovation, Irvine's crew renamed the business Pointers Grill at Hancock Landing, moving away from the "BFE" name entirely.

More recent sourcing shows the address has continued operating under a further evolution of that name. Yelp's listing for "Pointers Bar & Lounge" at 2056 Hancock Landing Road, last updated in December 2025, describes an active bar business with recent photos and reviews. A separate June 2025 update from Popthruster, a site that tracks the current status of Restaurant: Impossible locations, reported that the Waynesboro address remained open under new ownership, operating as Pointers Grill at Hancock Landing at that time. The True Citizen reported on September 26, 2023 that Wayne King, Vanessa Barefield and Brad Martin had leased the building that February and were running Pointers Bar & Lounge under new ownership, with a new menu and an employee who had worked there since 2017. The bar the show renamed Pointers has kept that name and its bar-and-grill format under the new operators, with no reported closure, so it continues as the same business under new ownership.
