What happened after Restaurant Makeover?

Bravi Restaurant was an Italian restaurant at 40 Wellington Street East in Toronto, according to its own website, which describes Tuscany-style cooking, a wine list drawn from Italy, California and elsewhere, and private and corporate event services. The site carries no dates. Its episode of Restaurant Makeover, a series on Food Network Canada and HGTV Canada, aired on October 24, 2005, as the fourth episode of the second season. Rotten Tomatoes' season listing gives the episode a one-line description that repeats the restaurant's name and nothing more, so the problems shown on screen, the changes to the menu, decor, staffing or name, and the relaunch are not documented in the sources read.

The series paired a chef with a designer to rebuild a restaurant on a small budget and a tight schedule, and TVmaze's listing for the show says the owners put up half of the funding. Rotten Tomatoes names six chefs among the season's hosts, Brad Long, Rene Chauvin, Lynn Crawford, Massimo Capra, Corbin Tomaszeski and David Adjey, but nothing read says which of them or which designer worked on the Bravi episode.

Wikipedia's list of renovated restaurants marks Bravi as still open, but the listings read point the other way. OpenTable's page for Bravi Ristorante at 40 Wellington Street East carries a permanently closed notice with no closure date; the diner reviews it shows run from April 7 to July 6, 2018, and the last of them is dated July 6, 2018. Google's business listing for Bravi at the same address, checked on October 19, 2026, is marked permanently closed; its postal code differs by one character from the one on the restaurant's website. Bravi's website still lists the telephone number 416-368-9030 and the Wellington Street address, with no hours or dated notices. No news report naming a closure date or a reason was found, so when Bravi stopped serving diners is not documented in the sources read.
