What happened after Hotel Impossible?

The Cambridge Inn was a small motel at 1277 S Palm Canyon Dr in Palm Springs, California, featured on Hotel Impossible's episode "Desert Disaster" (Travel Channel, aired 2017-10-16). Hotel Impossible's format has host Anthony Melchiorri work with owners of independent hotels to address operational and financial problems documented during filming, and the Palm Springs episode followed that pattern at the Cambridge Inn. The Cambridge Inn name is no longer associated with active business at the address. A Yelp business listing for 1277 S Palm Canyon Dr, updated in October 2025, marks the property as permanently closed.

Google Places' record for the same address independently lists the business status as permanently closed, confirmed in a check performed 2026-09-07. Both sources agree on the closure but neither carries a specific closure date or names a cause. No news article, court filing, or government licensing record describing what happened to the Cambridge Inn after the episode aired was located in this check; the evidence available is limited to the two closed-status listings above. It is also not established from the sources reviewed whether a different business has since opened at 1277 S Palm Canyon Dr, so the address is treated here as closed rather than renamed or under new ownership.
