What happened after Man v. Food?
Man v. Food (Travel Channel) featured Dain's Place Pub & Grub's bar menu in the same Durham, North Carolina segment that aired 2009-09-02. The business operates as a pub on Ninth Street in Durham, a commercial strip near Duke University's campus. A site check of dainsplace.bar on 2026-09-08 found the business now branded simply as Dain's Place, describing itself as a longtime local bar and listing current hours of 11am to midnight, Monday through Sunday, with the kitchen closing at 10pm. Google Places, checked 2026-09-07, lists the Ninth Street address as operational. The site's homepage referred to itself as "A Durham Institution" popular with students and sports fans, without giving a specific founding year. No source located indicated a closure, relocation, or change of ownership since the segment aired.

We work hard to keep every status accurate and dated, but restaurants change fast and our sources aren't perfect. If something here is wrong — a status, a name, an address, anything — tell us what you're seeing and where you saw it, and we'll check it.
