What happened after You Gotta Eat Here!?
You Gotta Eat Here! (Food Network Canada) aired its S1E9 visit to D&S Southern Comfort B.B.Q. on 2012-08-31. According to TVmaze's episode summary, host John Catucci took on the Determinator Hamburger Challenge there, a 5.5-pound meal that had to be finished within an hour. The business was a barbecue restaurant in Carlsbad Springs, Ontario, in the Ottawa area. CTV Ottawa's profile page, which carries no date, describes Texas-style barbecue with pulled pork, brisket, ribs, burgers, side dishes and smoked chocolate cheesecake. Google Maps lists the address as 6501 Russell Rd. A Google Maps listing viewed on 2026-10-19 marks the business as permanently closed. A web search run on 2026-10-19 did not turn up a dated closure announcement from the owners or from local news, so the closing date is not known.
