What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visited Dixie Quick's Magnolia Room in Omaha on the "Where the Locals Eat" episode, aired 2008-08-04, featuring the restaurant's blend of Southern cooking with Cajun, Tex-Mex, and Southwestern influences. Dixie Quick's was a downtown Omaha restaurant at 1915 Leavenworth Street, in operation for a number of years after its DDD appearance. A Yelp listing for the business, updated April 2026, marks it "CLOSED," and a public listing updated 2026-04 marks it as permanently closed. Other restaurant-directory listings, including Groupon and ActiveDiner, no longer show Dixie Quick's operating at that address, a weaker but consistent signal. The Leavenworth Street storefront that housed Dixie Quick's does not currently appear on the restaurant's former listings as an active business according to Yelp.
