What happened after Restaurant Makeover?
The Restaurant Makeover episode titled "Earth Indian" aired on Food Network Canada on 2008-12-01, the ninth episode of the fifth season. The Rotten Tomatoes episode guide describes it only in general terms: two restaurant industry top guns overhauled a struggling restaurant. Wikipedia's list of the show's renovated restaurants places the restaurant in North York, Ontario. No source read for this entry describes the owners, the problems the restaurant had, the changes to the menu, decor or staff, the budget, or the relaunch, so none of those details appear here.
A blogTO listing for Earth Indian Restaurant & Wine Bar places it at Yonge and Finch and describes it as a newer Indian restaurant in an area otherwise dominated by Korean and Persian food. It mentions traditional soups, appetizers, tandoori dishes, chicken, lamb, vegetarian and seafood options, plus a lunch buffet. The listing carries no date and does not say whether those details describe the restaurant before or after the makeover. On the date it was read, 2026-10-19, the blogTO page labeled the restaurant as closed.
A Google Places listing for Earth Indian Restaurant at 6036 Yonge St in North York, read on 2026-10-19, is also marked permanently closed. Google's data gives no closing date, and a listing flag records that the business was reported closed to Google, not when or why. The business's listing pointed to a Just Eat menu page as its website, which is a delivery-app page rather than the restaurant's own site, so no website is linked here.
Wikipedia's table, which is compiled by editors and was used only as a pointer, marks the restaurant as still open, with no note or date. That undated entry conflicts with the closed labels on the Google and blogTO listings read in 2026 and does not outweigh them. The sources read do not say what the makeover changed, when the relaunch took place, how long the restaurant operated afterward, or what now occupies the space.
