The restaurant's own website links to its You Gotta Eat Here! segment, and a video it posted on YouTube on 2015-06-23 is titled 'You Gotta Eat Here - El Rincon Mexicano Restaurant. Toronto, Canada'. The website, still online on 2026-10-20, describes a patio and an extended cocktail and tequila bar but carries no dated notices.

When checked on 2026-10-20, Google Maps listed El Rincon Mexicano at 653 St Clair Ave W as permanently closed, and Google's Places data returned the same closed status that day. None of the sources read gives a closing date.
