Current status

Open

As of October 2026, Mum Foods is listed open on mumfoodsatx.com, reviewed by our team on September 21, 2026; not yet independently confirmed through direct contact.

What the source shows: Mum Foods's own website is live with an active pre-order page, a posted farmers-market schedule (Mueller/Bell/Barton Creek), and current deli hours (Wed-Sun, 11am until sold out); consistent with the prior 2026-09-08 check. How we decide a status →

What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

On 'Pizza, Pastrami, and Potato Skins' (aired 2026-01-23), Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Mum Foods in Austin, spotlighting the shop's Texas-smoked barbecue and deli meats. Mum Foods's website brands itself 'Raised & Smoked in Texas,' and the business operates as a barbecue-and-delicatessen concept that also sells through area farmer's markets, according to its website. Since the episode, mumfoodsatx.com has continued to run working online pre-ordering and catering request pages, checked 2026-09-08. The site lists Sunday hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., though that slot appears tied to a farmer's-market address rather than the Manor Road location, according to mumfoodsatx.com, and Google Places separately lists Mum Foods as operational at the Manor Road address. No independent news coverage of a closure or ownership change at the business was found.
