What happened after Food Paradise?

The episode featured Nicky Rottens Bar & Burger Joint for its casual bar food, including burgers and pub fare served near the Coronado Ferry Landing. The restaurant is a longtime sports bar situated at 100 Orange Avenue in Coronado, California. SanDiegoVille reported in June 2026 that the restaurant had gone dark for several weeks while ownership pursued a renovation and business reinvention, and that the restaurant's final Facebook and Instagram posts, dated May 11, encouraged entrepreneurs to inquire about franchising the concept. The same report noted that Yelp had listed the business as closed, while the restaurant's own website displayed a newly crafted menu that, according to SanDiegoVille, suggested the business may have reopened or was preparing to reopen. Google Places separately lists the business as permanently closed, and these signals conflict without a single fresher, dated source to settle them.
