In the You Gotta Eat Here! episode that aired on 2015-01-30, the season 4 premiere, TVmaze's episode summary says the show featured authentic Neapolitan pizza and pasta at Pizzeria Via Mercanti in Toronto. Toronto Life reported on 2012-02-09 that the restaurant at 188 Augusta Avenue in Kensington Market was a new opening from two Sicilian expats, Romolo Salvati and Massimo Di Lascio, who had left Queen Margherita about two months earlier and set up in the recently shuttered Back Alley Woodfire BBQ and Grill space. The magazine described a laid-back Neapolitan-style pizza operation with two brick ovens that bake each pie in 60 to 85 seconds. The restaurant's current website, whose server record shows a modification date of 2026-10-20, describes wood-fire Neapolitan pizza in Kensington Market and offers dine-in, takeout and online ordering.
