What happened after Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares?
Rococo was a fine-dining restaurant in King's Lynn, Norfolk, run by chef-owner Nick Anderson, when Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (Channel 4) aired its episode on 2006-11-28. TheTVDB's listing for the episode describes Anderson as a former Michelin-starred chef whose expensive menu felt stuck in the 1990s and whose restaurant was struggling. According to Wikipedia's episode list, Anderson resisted updating his menu and methods, a stance Ramsay linked to Anderson's abrupt departure from a hotel kitchen soon after it won a Michelin star in 1997, and the restaurant had a weak reputation in town.
What the rescue changed: Per Wikipedia's episode list, Ramsay advised a fresh start in the same building. The restaurant was given a full makeover, a new name, Maggie's, and a menu built around local seafood. Wikipedia's article on Anderson, which calls the restaurant Nick's Bistro @ Rococo, says it was renamed Maggie's during the show.
The relaunch and revisit: The episode list says that when Ramsay checked back, Anderson had embraced the new identity and moved on from his past.
Background on the site: Wikipedia's article on Anderson says he first opened Nick's Bistro @ Rococo in 1991 in a 17th-century building in King's Lynn, moved Rococo to The Crown in Wells-next-the-Sea in June 2001, and returned to King's Lynn in 2005 to reopen it. Wikipedia's article on the house at 10-11 Saturday Market Place says Rococo occupied it from 1991 to 2001 and that a business called Market Bistro occupied it from 2010 to 2020.
According to Wikipedia's article on chef Nick Anderson, Rococo closed in 2007.
