On the July 29, 2012 episode "Tiki Curse" (Bar Rescue S2E2), Jon Taffer found a business that had been allowed to fall into serious physical disrepair, threatening the reputation of the attached hotel. Food and service both fell well below standard, and Taffer traced much of the dysfunction to lax management: certain bartenders were permitted to arrive up to four hours late, or skip shifts entirely, without consequence, while other staff picked up the slack. Mixologist Terrelle Treco and chef Josh Capon joined the rescue to rebuild the food and drink program around a tropical concept suited to the beachfront setting. Taffer pushed Frank to fire underperforming staff and hold the remaining crew to consistent standards rather than playing favorites, and the physical renovation focused on repairing years of accumulated wear so the space matched its beachfront location. At relaunch, the show rebranded the bar as Bamboo Beach Club & Tiki Bar, a modernized version of the original name meant to keep the recognizable "Bamboo Beach" identity while signaling a fresh start.

In the years since, the business has continued operating under variations of its pre-rescue name rather than the show's chosen rebrand.
