What happened after Mystery Diners?
The Black Rose Tavern, a bar and live-music venue on West Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles, appeared on Mystery Diners season 7, episode 11, "Partner in Crime," which aired 2014-10-06. Mystery Diners is a series in which an owner concerned about a service or staff problem allows hidden cameras and undercover diners into the business, then reviews the footage with the host for a coaching session on fixes. According to Wikipedia's article on the series, citing its sources, the investigations are arranged in advance and scripted for television rather than being spontaneous.
The venue previously operated as The Joint before becoming Black Rose Tavern, combining a craft-beer selection with live entertainment and bar food such as pretzel-bun sliders, according to HappyCow's listing. Yelp's page for the tavern, last updated in March 2026, carries a "CLOSED" designation and shows no indication of reopening. Other restaurant-listing sites, including Seamless and MenuPix, likewise show no active ordering or current hours for the address. No source located in this research gives a specific closure date; the available listings only establish that the business was no longer operating as of the most recent update.
