The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5) episode "The House Near Bath" aired July 4, 2017. According to TheTVDB's episode entry, Rowena and Mike were business partners running a boutique hotel near the city of Bath, and the entry describes the business as running at a large loss because of how Rowena looked after her guests. Host Alex Polizzi set out to show the pair how to earn a profit from their visitors. A preview on What to Watch, published June 27, 2017, calls The House a well-reviewed guesthouse in Bath. It adds that Rowena was not interested in the business side, did not know how much money was coming in or going out, and kept the bar stocked with drinks that guests were not charged for.

TheTVDB does not name the village, but several listings place a property called The House near Bath in Woolverton, BA2 7QS. A Kayak page rendered October 19, 2026 shows it as a 4-star bed and breakfast with 15 en-suite rooms, about 11.5 kilometers from central Bath, a 9.5 rating from 122 reviews and nightly rates from C$265. A Cvent venue listing, with no dates, shows The House At Woolverton as an independent hotel with 14 guest rooms, an on-site restaurant and a conservatory used for weddings.

The Caterer reported on 2 November 2006 that Woolverton House, a 15-bedroom country house hotel near Bath, was sold by Ric and Gina House to Rowena Smith and Mike Peck, matching the first names TheTVDB gives for the episode's owners. A Discover Frome listing for The House near Bath at Woolverton, BA2 7QS, describes a former rectory with 11 double en-suite bedrooms and says a family had owned it since 2006. A Rivendell Estates video page for Woolverton House, carrying a September 2026 update stamp, markets the former rectory as a country house hotel with residential planning permission. The only dated review on Kayak's page is from July 2018.
