What happened after Hotel Impossible?
Hotel Impossible featured Trade Winds Inn, an oceanfront motor inn in Rockland, Maine, on season 7, episode 8, 'The Pain in Maine,' which aired 2016-06-13, following the show's format of a hospitality consultant addressing operational problems at an independently run property. According to the Bangor Daily News on 2025-04-23, new owner Ashish Lall purchased part of the former Trade Winds Motor Inn in the summer of 2023 for $3.29 million and converted the other two-thirds of the 56-room property into a separately branded Harborline Hotel, while the portion Lall did not convert continued operating as Trade Winds on the Bay, including timeshare units, a restaurant, and a lounge. A 2026-09-09 check of Trade Winds on the Bay's current website, tradewindsonthebay.me, found a live, modern booking site with room and facilities information at 2 Park Dr. Google Places also lists the property as operational.
No news coverage of a closure or legal dispute involving Trade Winds on the Bay itself was found. TripAdvisor also carries an updated 2026 review page for Trade Winds on the Bay, according to its current listing. The Harborline Hotel, the other portion of the original property, operates separately under its own branding, according to the same Bangor Daily News report.
