What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Part 1 — Season 12, Episode 7 Aired
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visited Zydeco's for the 'Homemade & Homebrewed' episode, aired 2011-10-03, spotlighting chef Carter Hutchinson's south Louisiana classics -- gumbo, jambalaya, red beans and rice, crawfish etouffee, and the restaurant's own take on Cajun-spiced fried chicken. Zydeco's operated as a Cajun and Creole restaurant at 11 East Main Street in Mooresville, Indiana, for more than 26 years. According to Fox59, in December 2024 Zydeco's Cajun announced it would shut down after that long run. Yelp's listing for Zydeco's, updated 2026-06, also marks the restaurant as permanently closed.
The restaurant's own website, zydecos.net, did not respond when checked on 2026-09-08, returning no content. No current website, social account, or reopening announcement for Zydeco's was found. No successor business at 11 East Main Street was identified in the material reviewed.
Part 2 — Season 21, Episode 14 Aired
On the hourlong 'Southern Spectacular' episode (aired 2014-12-22), Guy Fieri returned to Zydeco's in Mooresville, three years after his first visit, to revisit chef-owner Carter Hutchinson's Louisiana-style cooking. Fieri again praised the restaurant's house-made boudin sausage and its barbecued shrimp with smoked pork, according to the Indiana Foodways Alliance. Hutchinson, a New Orleans native, runs Zydeco's with his wife Deb, serving Cajun dishes such as jambalaya, gumbo, and etouffee; the restaurant's original episode aired 2011-10-03.
