What happened after Restaurant Stakeout?

In the pun-titled episode "Whine Bar," "Restaurant Stakeout" visited 12 Grapes, a combination wine bar, restaurant and live-music venue in downtown Peekskill, New York. As with other episodes, Willie Degel used hidden cameras to observe service problems before working with ownership on operational fixes to the dining and bar service. Wikipedia's article on the show, citing a 2012 realityblurred.com report, describes Restaurant Stakeout's surveillance-and-intervention format as staged and scripted rather than a genuine unannounced investigation. After the episode aired, 12 Grapes continued operating for several more years, building a reputation as a live-music venue that hosted roughly 2,500 shows and won multiple "Best of Westchester" awards.

Online sources place its closure at around August 2018, after about a decade in business, though a local Hudson Valley events calendar that tracked its concert listings shows events booked there as recently as December 2019 and none after that date — the more recent, dated signal this page relies on for its status. Yelp's listing for the North Division Street address also carries a closed designation. No successor restaurant at the same address was identified in this research. The venue's full street address was 12 North Division Street.
