Is Amalfi's Italian Restaurant Still Open? Mystery Diners Update

On the Season 8 episode "Local Celebrities" (Mystery Diners, aired 2014-11-24), Rashad and Kiauna, owners of Amalfi's Italian Restaurant in Portland, worried that staff were getting carried away with the promotional digital shorts filmed to market the restaurant and asked investigator Charles for help. Mystery diners Amber and Josh went undercover to observe how the videos were made and whether filming was disrupting service. According to Wikipedia's article on the program, citing its sources, the show's own end-credits disclaimer allows that certain events may have been staged or re-enacted for dramatic effect, and a television critic quoted in the article judged the show's scenarios implausible.

Amalfi's, a neighborhood Italian dining room with a separate bar menu and private dining rooms, was checked directly on 2026-09-09: its website displayed a 2026 copyright notice and listed dinner hours running from 4 p.m. into the evening Wednesday through Sunday, along with carryout, catering, and gift-card options, plus private event spaces named the Chianti Room and the North Dining Room. Only the restaurant's own site was checked for this record, so this check treats the finding as a single, dated source rather than independently confirmed elsewhere. No ownership change, rename, or relocation was found in connection with the address on NE Fremont Street.
