What happened after Mystery Diners?
On the Season 8 episode "Deep Sea Delivery" (Mystery Diners, aired 2014-12-08), Angie, owner of Cha Cha Cha Salsaria in Honolulu, heard rumors that an employee was running an unauthorized boat delivery operation out of the restaurant and contacted investigator Charles Stiles. Mystery diners Jordan and David went undercover to trace what was happening offshore during business hours. According to Wikipedia's article on the program, citing its sources, the show's own end-credits disclaimer allows that certain events may have been staged or re-enacted for dramatic effect, and a television critic quoted in the article judged the show's scenarios implausible and unconvincing.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported on 2016-08-31 that the Hawaii Kai restaurant, then in its 22nd year of hosting the neighborhood's Cinco de Mayo celebrations, had closed.
