What happened after Bar Rescue?
Armadillo Grill in Phoenix, Arizona, was featured on Bar Rescue (Paramount Network) in the Season 7 episode "The Mother of All Failures," which aired September 13, 2020. The bar operated at 1904 E. Camelback Road in the Camelback East neighborhood. During the Bar Rescue visit, Jon Taffer renamed the business Brenda's Inferno, and it continued operating under that name for the remainder of its run. Axios reported on May 5, 2023, in an article titled "Goodbye, Armadillo Grill: Requiem for a trivia night bar," that the bar had closed in December 2021.
Axios also reported that the property was later demolished, leaving the site cleared and fenced. A Yelp listing for the address, carrying the Brenda's Inferno name, was updated in August 2026 and marks the business permanently closed, consistent with the site remaining out of restaurant use in the years since the reported 2021 closure. Specific details of what changed on air during the Bar Rescue visit beyond the rename -- menu, decor, or staffing changes -- were not available in the sourced material reviewed for this entry.
The Camelback East stretch of East Camelback Road sits in a commercial corridor with a mix of long-running restaurants and newer redevelopment, and the loss of the building itself, as described in the Axios report, means Brenda's Inferno is not a case of a vacant storefront awaiting a new tenant; the physical building the show visited no longer stands at that address. Twenty-four years of continuous operation under the Armadillo Grill name, as cited by Axios, place the location's founding at approximately 1997, well before its 2020 Bar Rescue appearance and its final roughly year and a half of operation as Brenda's Inferno. No court record, regulatory citation, or ownership statement was found in the sources reviewed to explain the specific reasons the business wound down in December 2021.
