Best Thing I Ever Ate (Food Network) featured a dish from Blue Smoke's menu in the show's 'Finger Food' episode. The barbecue restaurant, part of Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group, operated a Battery Park City location at 255 Vesey Street that had been open since 2012. According to Tribeca Citizen, which reported on 2024-10-01, the Battery Park City location was slated to close that December, after the chain's original Flatiron location had already closed permanently in 2020 during the pandemic. A site check of the Battery Park City location's webpage on 2026-09-08 returned an HTTP 404 error, and Yelp's listing for Blue Smoke remained marked closed as of an August 2026 update.
