What happened after Best Thing I Ever Ate?
Locanda Verde is an Italian restaurant inside The Greenwich Hotel in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood, opened by chef Andrew Carmellini in 2009. The restaurant's own website describes its menu as urban Italian, built around antipasti, house-made pastas, and secondi, served in a bustling corner dining room. Carmellini co-owns the restaurant with Josh Pickard, Luke Ostrom, and hotel partners Ira Drukier, Richard Born, and Robert De Niro, according to the restaurant's about page. According to that same page, the team opened a second Locanda Verde location at 50 Hudson Yards in 2024, extending the original Tribeca concept uptown.
A reservation form on the restaurant's website was active when checked on 2026-09-08, and the about page listed no closure notice for either location. NYC Tourism's official visitor site also includes a current restaurant page for Locanda Verde in Manhattan.
