What happened after Food Paradise?

In the episode 'Super Sandwiches' (Season 9, Episode 3), Boomwich was featured for its stacked hero sandwiches, including a Cuban-style hero and a cheesesteak-style hero built on a toasted roll. The shop was a sandwich counter in Brooklyn's Boerum Hill neighborhood that opened in 2014 under chef Pete Entner, a former fine-dining chef who set out to build a casual, hip-hop-influenced sandwich shop, according to The Village Voice. Its menu also included buffalo chicken, reuben, and falafel heroes, according to Brownstoner. According to a Yelp business listing updated in September 2025, Boomwich is permanently closed. The address our records initially matched, Brooklyn Hero Shop at 270 Vanderbilt Avenue in Fort Greene, is a separate, unrelated hero-sandwich shop in a different neighborhood, and is not a rename or relocation of Boomwich.
