What happened after Project Bakeover?
Boulangerie Patisserie Italia, a Montreal bakery, was the eighth episode of Project Bakeover (Food Network Canada) season two, “Sweet Serenity Now,” first aired on 2022-05-19. According to Wikipedia's article on the series, host Steve Hodge and designer Tiffany Pratt help bakeries update their menus and decor, and season two ran ten episodes from 2022-03-31 to 2022-06-02. Wikipedia's episode table lists three items created for the bakery: pesca con crema, Italian nougat bars and pizza palmiers. The sources reviewed for this page do not describe the problems shown on air, the redesign or the relaunch beyond the episode title.
Directories and Google list the bakery as Pâtisserie & Boulangerie Italia at 5496 Rue Jean-Talon Est, in Montreal's Saint-Léonard borough. The Main's directory lists it at that address and shows the entry as added on 2025-07-08. Resto Montréal's listing, whose page carried a 2026 copyright and Google review data marked as of 2026-10-15, showed a most recent review dated 2026-09-05 and hours of closed Mondays, 8am to 6pm Tuesday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Saturday and 8am to 3pm Sunday. One review on that page mentions Sisterly Sweets in connection with the bakery. The oldest review shown there was dated 2025-05-29, and The Main's page listed no hours.
Sisterly Sweets MTL, whose website is the one linked from Google's record for the address, lists 5496 Jean Talon Est and similar hours, and says its cake business began inside the Patisserie Boulangerie Italia in 2006. That site's title tag gives a different street number (5140) and its most recent year in the page text is 2017, so it is cited here only for the 2006 origin and not as evidence of current operation. This page makes no claim about ownership links between Italia and Sisterly Sweets.
