What happened after Food Paradise?
On Food Paradise's 'Manliest Restaurants 2' episode (2012), Butcher & The Burger appeared for its build-your-own burger concept, where diners choose their meat, grind, and toppings from an in-house butcher case before the kitchen grinds and cooks the order fresh. The restaurant, opened by chef Al Sternweiler, offers grass-fed beef along with salmon, shrimp, and lentil patties as alternatives to traditional beef. The restaurant's own site returned an error to the automated check, so current status was confirmed through a third-party listing instead. A Yelp listing updated in September 2026 lists the restaurant open at its original 1021 W Armitage Ave location in Chicago's Lincoln Park/DePaul neighborhood, with 1,194 reviews recorded. The concept has since expanded to a second, newer location at O'Hare International Airport's Terminal 5, unrelated to the featured Armitage Avenue spot, according to the same listings.
