What happened after Food Paradise?

Food Paradise's 'Hey Butter Butter' featured Buttercream Bakeshop for its butter-laminated pastries among a lineup of Washington, DC bakeries. The shop, known for custom wedding and special-occasion cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, plus what Washingtonian called often-nostalgic desserts and holiday treats, opened on 9th Street NW in the Shaw neighborhood in 2016, according to DCist's opening coverage that year. According to Washingtonian (2023-11-13), owner Tiffany MacIsaac announced on Instagram that Buttercream Bakeshop would close at the end of 2023, citing staff shortages, rising ingredient costs, and, in her words, "a serious increase in crime throughout DC." FOX 5 DC and DCist both reported the closure the same week, and a Yelp listing, updated 2026-07, continues to mark the Shaw location permanently closed.
