"The Best Thing I Ever Ate" featured Churrascaria Novo Mundo for its barbecue chicken, a Portuguese-style grilled dish the restaurant became known for over three decades in New Bedford. According to The Dartmouth Week, owners Carla and Jonathan Amaral closed that original New Bedford location and reopened at 24 Cove Road in South Dartmouth on October 10, 2025, after the space needed more room and parking. Fun 107 reported the move in February 2025, quoting Carla Amaral saying "This has been our home for 31 years, so it's very emotional."
Carla Amaral told The Dartmouth Week the transition was difficult, saying "my dream became a nightmare because there was just so many issues," though the restaurant reopened within about a week of closing. Yelp's listing for the relocated restaurant was last updated in March 2026.
