What happened after Food Paradise?
Food Paradise's 'Local Legends' episode featured the raw-bar oysters and Creole-inflected dishes served at Desire Oyster Bar, the French Quarter restaurant built into the Royal Sonesta Hotel on Bourbon Street. The restaurant operates at 300 Bourbon St in New Orleans as part of the hotel's dining lineup, and now markets itself simply as Desire Oyster Bar rather than the Desire Bistro & Oyster Bar name used at the time of the episode. According to the Royal Sonesta's own website, checked 2026-09-09, the restaurant's page remains live and includes an active online reservations and ordering interface. No dated review or news mention was found beyond the hotel's current site, and the page did not display a specific 2026 date or menu update beyond the functioning booking system.

We work hard to keep every status accurate and dated, but restaurants change fast and our sources aren't perfect. If something here is wrong — a status, a name, an address, anything — tell us what you're seeing and where you saw it, and we'll check it.
