What happened after Mystery Diners?

Mystery Diners' Oct. 9, 2013 episode "Three's a Crowd" (Season 4, Episode 13) featured Falls Taproom in Philadelphia's East Falls neighborhood. According to an episode overview on TheTVDB, owner Marvin contacted Charles Stiles after hearing rumors of a feud between his girlfriend, who managed the bar, and his best friend; the sources reviewed for this entry did not include a full recap of the on-air investigation's findings. Falls Taproom later closed after more than a decade on Midvale Avenue: co-owner Jess Mellen-Graaf told the NW Local Paper in a November 9, 2017 article that the business "sold the liquor license back to the landlord" to fund other ventures, and a Yelp listing updated April 2026 still shows the business as closed.

The same article reported that the owners went on to open Cresheim Grain Exchange and Pizzeria Nonnas elsewhere in Philadelphia. Wikipedia's article on the series, citing its sources, notes that the show carries a credits disclaimer stating that events may be re-enacted for dramatic purposes, and cites a television critic who described the show's scenarios as implausible and its resolutions as staged. The address Google Places matched to "Taproom" on file, on Walker Street in Philadelphia's Holmesburg section, is a different business; this entry uses Falls Taproom's actual 3749 Midvale Ave. address, standardized through the Census Bureau's geocoder, which also supplied the 19129 zip code.
