What happened after Restaurant Makeover?
The Restaurant Makeover episode titled "Slippery Boot" aired on Food Network Canada on 2008-11-24, the eighth episode of the fifth season. The Rotten Tomatoes episode guide describes it only in general terms: two restaurant industry top guns overhauled a struggling restaurant. Wikipedia's list of the show's renovated restaurants, which is compiled by editors and was used only as a pointer, gives the post-makeover name as Locavore. No source read for this entry describes the owners, the problems at Slippery Boot, the menu, decor or staff changes, the budget, or the relaunch, so none of those details appear here.
The same Wikipedia note says the space later became Trillium Bistro and is now La Cascina. Wikipedia's reference list includes a piece by ElliDavis dated 2009-08-03 about how Locavore became Trillium Bistro, which the page appears to tie to this note. That piece could not be found or read for this entry, and no source read confirms a business of either later name at the address, or the dates of any change.
A Google Places listing for LOCAVORE at 186 Spadina Ave in Toronto, read on 2026-10-19, is marked permanently closed. Google's data gives no closing date. The listing matches the post-makeover name and the city, but no source read independently ties the Spadina Avenue address to the Slippery Boot of the 2008 episode, so the address rests on that name match. Wikipedia's table also lists the restaurant as no longer open, which agrees with the listing.
A NOW Toronto item dated 2008-05-29 and titled Locavore turned up in the search, but it is a column of short restaurant reviews that shares only the word. It has no connection to this restaurant and was not used. What the sources show is limited to three things: an episode that aired under the name Slippery Boot, a post-makeover name of Locavore according to Wikipedia, and a Google listing under that name flagged as permanently closed on the date it was read.
