What happened after Restaurant Makeover?
Waterfall Martini Lounge was a Toronto bar featured in the Restaurant Makeover episode aired on 2007-11-12. The series paired a chef with a designer to overhaul a struggling restaurant or bar on a limited budget, with the owner's funds matched by the production. Rotten Tomatoes' synopsis for the episode names only the lounge and the city. TV Guide's season listing gives the substance: owners Berry and Sonya had their bar upgraded by designer Jonathan Ferlong (Wikipedia's list spells the surname Furlong), while chef David Adjey taught Berry more complex dishes and kitchen principles. The crew had a six-day deadline, and TV Guide notes that the build crew's Igor was frustrated by the changes to the design. No page read gives the lounge's budget, its new menu or any detail of the relaunch. Rotten Tomatoes lists the episode seventh in the season, between the Essence episode aired on 2007-11-05 and the Calypso Hut episode aired on 2007-11-19.
A Google Places listing places a business named Waterfall Martini Lounge at 326 Adelaide Street West, Toronto, M5V 1R3, and marks it permanently closed; that listing was checked on 2026-10-19. Wikipedia's list of Restaurant Makeover restaurants gives no location for the lounge and marks it as not still open, with no date or source for that mark.
A web search for the lounge together with its closure returned no news item, review or listing page naming it, so the Places record is the only dated item found. The sources read do not say when the lounge stopped operating, why, or whether another business took over the Adelaide Street West space. They also do not say whether the owners, Berry and Sonya, opened another venue afterwards.
