What happened after The Hotel Inspector?

Northshore Bude Hostel is a hostel in Bude, on the north Cornwall coast. It featured in Series 16, episode 4 of The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5), which aired on 2021-07-01 under the title "Northshore Bude Hostel, Bude". According to TheTVDB's episode page, Alex Polizzi travelled to Cornwall after a call for help from what the page calls Bude's only hostel. Owners Sean and Janine had bought it 16 years earlier, after returning from travelling the world, hoping to keep their travel dreams alive. Wikipedia's list of Hotel Inspector episodes describes it as a hostel bought by two travellers and lists the same air date.

What has happened since: A Trip.com listing, read on 2026-10-19 and carrying a 2026 copyright notice, names a Northshorebude Backpackers Hotel - Hostel at 57 Killerton Road, Bude-Stratton, with 19 rooms. It shows default search dates of 27 to 28 October, says it is waiting for reviews, and does not say whether the property is open or closed. An undated Exploreo page for the Northshorebude backpackers hostel lists 11 rooms, a 22:30 check-in, a 10:00 check-out and a photo-ID rule at check-in, gives no street address, and shows an empty availability section. A Google Places search for the address returned a listing called Northshore Apartments at 57 Killerton Road, Bude EX23 8EW.

A Bond Oxborough Phillips brochure for Apartment 4, Northshore Apartments, 57 Killerton Road, Bude EX23 8EW lists a two-bedroom leasehold flat at 225,000 pounds, with the owner holding a one-sixth share of the freehold; the agent's website marks it sale agreed. A PrimeLocation listing for a second-floor flat on Killerton Road, showing a price reduction dated 26 February 2026 and a sold subject to contract marker, gives directions to Northshore. Direct Hotels gives the hostel's address as Penwethers, 57 Killerton Road, and none of these sale pages mentions a hostel. Trip.com's hostel listing, read on 2026-10-19, shows no guest reviews.
