What happened after The Hotel Inspector?

The Ramblers' Rest, a guest house in Princetown on Dartmoor, Devon, opened series 20 of The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5) on 2025-07-17. Tavistock Today reported on 2025-07-10 that Nikki and Terry Hirst opened the business in 2021 after buying the former Railway Inn, and that the program's publicity described a guest house and spa with almost no occupancy. The couple kept the appearance secret until filming ended, and a public viewing of the episode was planned at The Plume of Feathers in Princetown at 8pm on 2025-07-17. The article also noted that the couple had won Channel 4's Four in a Bed in 2024.

Visit Dartmoor published a July 2025 account reporting that Alex Polizzi worked with the couple for three weeks. According to Visit Dartmoor, the couple adopted a new slogan about being a home base for exploring the moor, replacing an earlier strapline they felt oversold the comfort on offer. It reported that upgrades followed, partly funded by decarbonization grants and local council funds: 48 solar panels, double glazing, an air source heat pump for the spa pool and five electric-vehicle chargers in the car park, with energy cost reductions of up to 75% expected. The account added that the couple were weighing simpler rooms without kitchenettes and a pre-booked breakfast option.

The business's own website, viewed on 2026-10-19, presents The Railway Ramblers' Rest as a self-catering guest house at Princetown PL20 6QT, with apartment, family, king, double, twin and single room types and glamping. It embeds Google reviews dated between 2026-06-30 and 2026-09-03, shows award logos that include a Four in a Bed win, and carries page metadata last modified 2026-05-31. The website does not mention The Hotel Inspector.
