What happened after Best Thing I Ever Ate?
"Best Thing I Ever Ate," "On a Date" (S10E2), featured Oiji's contemporary Korean small plates, the kind of composed, technique-driven dishes that built the East Village restaurant's reputation under chefs Brian Kim and Tae Kyung Ku. Oiji opened in February 2015 at 119 First Avenue in Manhattan's East Village, according to an OpenTable Blog feature on the chefs' later restaurants. A Yelp listing updated 2026-09 marks the First Avenue address as closed. The OpenTable Blog and a KevinEats restaurant review both describe Oiji as closing in the spring of 2022, after which Brian Kim opened a new, separate restaurant, Oiji Mi, in the Flatiron District in May 2022. Oiji Mi is not a renaming or relocation of Oiji -- it is a distinct restaurant at a different address that has since earned its own Michelin star.
